Bray Wyatt’s return has been a masterful stroke by the WWE as it not only returned one of their biggest stars, but they did it the right way with plenty of hints about his return at Extreme Rules. While we have yet to see him in the ring, his promos have been on the next level and it has us wondering what’s next.
While there will always be those that don’t like him, what he means to the company can’t be overstated as he’s a cash cow when it comes to merchandise.
PWInsider recently reported that he only has a limited amount of items available at WWEShop.com, but he’s already the company’s top merchandise seller.
This is the same position he held when he was released in 2021, so in many ways nothing changed there except that he’s back.
It’s been reported that one of the items we can expect are plushies of the Firefly House characters.
While this will be cool for various reasons, it also means that the Fiend will remain as one of the possible character for Wyatt to adopt if the situation calls for him.
Top of the roster
Besides returning to the top spot in the merchandise category, Wyatt’s also been moved up to be the top babyface on Smackdown, and that’s going to be an interesting run considering he’s been a heel most of his career.
Even before he was released, he was listed as a face, and feuding with Randy Orton helped validate that as few as good at being a heel as Orton.
The ranking puts Wyatt across from Roman Reigns, which means that we can expect a possible feud between Wyatt and Reigns, though we doubt that’ll happen.
Wyatt’s the type that doesn’t need a championship to validate him, though if given a chance he would be a fun champion.
He’s similar to the Undertaker in that way. Both of them had short title reigns but remained hugely popular. The difference was the Undertaker was booked far better than Wyatt was.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Triple H will book him going forward, but so far it’s been a pleasure to watch.
Of course, Wyatt’s rise led to some others being shifted around as well. One of those is Drew McIntyre, who was slated as the top babyface and this slid him down to number two.
McIntyre’s been booked well, but it’s frustrating that he never got a real shot at Reigns. He’s shown he doesn’t need a championship to validate himself either, but like Wyatt, it’d be nice to see them get a legitimate shot.
