For months now, Seth Rollins & Matt Riddle have been at each other’s throats – and it’s time for their issues to be sorted. There’s only one match where Seth Rollins can truly destroy Riddle, and that’s The Fight Pit. Entering the MMA styled match with the former fighter and getting the win would prove the skills of Rollins, and embarrass Riddle. Add in UFC legend Daniel Cormier as the guest referee for this one – and chaos is all but ensured, with the finish needing to be KO or submission.

The Fight Pit has been seen twice in WWE. Matt Riddle took on Timothy Thatcher in the first match, and would lose. Thatcher would later meet Tomasso Ciampa in the second fight pit match, claiming his second win. Both of these matches were pure aggression, and given how personal the feud between Riddle & Rollins has gotten? That might be topped here tonight.

The Fight Pit Starts In Violent Fashion

The Fight Pit would be lowered, and the bell would ring on this main event fight. Riddle would test the legs of Rollins with a quick kick, before some open palm strikes. Rollins was taken to the mat, before Riddle would spring off the cage for a kick to the face. Rollins would be beaten into the mat – but Cormier would pull Riddle off after catching a stray blow.

While Riddle & Cormier were arguing, Rollins would take advantage and retake the control. A German Suplex would see Riddle land on his feet, before going for a triangle choke. Rollins would go after the eyes of Riddle to get free, before also getting in a scrap with Cormier. This wouldn’t turn into a triple threat however, with Rollins going after Riddle with a rolling elbow to the back of the neck.

Riddle would not stay down for a ten count, getting to his feet by seven before Rollins was on him with some rabid strikes. A suplex into the steel would follow, before Rollins would look at climbing to the elevated platform before hitting a frog splash. Rollins would look for a submission, but Riddle would fight to his feet before hitting an RKO.

Riddle would not get the KO victory, Rollins finding his feet before an exchange of strikes. Final Flash was blocked as was a second RKO, before the Curb Stomp. Riddle would avoid a super Curb Stomp – before both men would climb to the upper platform of the Fight Pit.

Matt Riddle Has The Cage Fighting Experience To Claim The Win

High above the ring, Rollins would try to punch Rollins down into the ring – before ending up in a Rear Naked Choke from Riddle. Rollins would break free and slam the face of Riddle off the cage wall, before a Buckle Bomb into the corner of the cage. Corey Graves on commentary seemed to expect Rollins to throw Riddle down into the ring instead – which would have been a certain finish.

The Pedigree on the platform would follow, but the count didn’t count when it wasn’t inside the ring. Rollins would argue with Cormier, before looking for the stomp. Riddle would avoid and hit the RKO on the platform, with Rollins teetering and rolling down to the ring. Riddle would fly down with the Floating Broton – crushing Rollins into the mat – and potentially injuring himself as well.

Both men somehow found their feet at the count of nine, before Riddle would look for a triangle choke and Rollins countering with a powerbomb. Riddle would refuse to break the hold, and Rollins would be forced to tap out. This one was over – but atleast both men will be able to walk to the back.

    Bray Wyatt Is BACK

As Riddle would celebrate the win, the lights went out and the fireflies came out. “He’s got the whole wide world in his hands” would play over the speakers, meaning just one man could be back. It’s been a while since we’ve seen him.

We’d see the characters of the Firefly Funhouse through the arena – showing up one by one – building the tension even further. The Fiend mask was seen on the announce desk, spooking Michael Cole, and The Fiend himself was even here. However, The Funhouse was torn apart – and it seems were in for a new era for The Eater of Worlds himself.

A door would be kicked open – and someone carrying a lantern would emerge. Bray Wyatt is officially back, and that’s how Extreme Rules 2022 comes to a close. What does Wyatt have in store for the WWE roster? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
