If Joe Rogan knows much about a certain thing, that must be MMA or UFC in particular. Being in the industry for long 30 years he keeps track of records, fighting styles, matchups, etc. Since he is knowledgeable about the sport, it makes sense that he can predict the outcome of fights with certainty. Of course, MMA is not such a predictable sport, but, Joe Rogan claims that he marks a great success rate when betting on UFC fights.
During a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan reveals that he was betting on UFC fights for which he claims he ‘knew’ the outcome. Joe Rogan spoke about his betting days as if they are finished, so we don’t know if this trend of his is still in continuation. As a person who is directly involved in the sport, or even better, the promotion, he might have met some restrictions when it comes to betting.
Gambler Joe Rogan Claims He Has A Success Rate Of 80% When Betting On UFC Fights
Joe Rogan is the ‘color commentator’ for the UFC since forever. The one feature that is a must for a commentator of combat sports is to be unbiased. And that is pretty impossible if you have a ton of money on someone fighting before your eyes. That might be the reason Joe Rogan speaks about his betting days in ‘past simple’ tense.
Regardless of whether he is still able to bet on fights, or not, on a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan claims that his success rate when betting was 84%. This is indeed impressive. Predicting more than 80% of the fights correctly makes you sort of a master in the sport in question. In order to have such a high success rate, you cannot just get fight results right by luck. It requires skill, knowledge, and thorough analysis.
“I used to bet on UFC even when I was commentating.” – Rogan told his guest. “I bet on it early on. I’m like this is probably not legal. One of my business partners would come to the fights and he would gamble. So when I stopped gambling I would just say bet. We were at like 84 percent success rate. It was so crazy.”
If what Rogan claims is true, he doesn’t need to work anymore. He can just make money from betting. People that bet on fights are ‘lucky’ if they manage to reach a success rate of 50% . Anything above 50% is pure ingenuity.
Do you bet on UFC fights? What is your success rate?
