In Sunday’s episode of TLC’s Sister Wives, Kody Brown discussed the impact of his divorce from Christine Brown on his relationships with his other wives, including his long-term polygamous marriage to Meri. “My connection with Meri is excellent, but it’s not a married scenario,” Kody admitted. “It’s a nice friendship, but I don’t think Meri is getting anything out of it. Not even close.”
After her catfish controversy in 2016, Meri and Kody were candid about their marriage being more friendly than romantic. (At the time, the TLC personality had an online romance with a man she thought was a woman, but it turned out to be the latter.)
Kody Brown Says Has An “Amicable” Relationship With First Wife, Meri
The patriarch has said his connection with Meri has evolved since Christine, 50, announced she was leaving Kody after 26 years of marriage. “I’m currently experiencing the gall of hatred with Christine,” Kody admitted. “Conversely, Meri and I get along, so I have a soft spot for her. I’m unsure what has healed, but Meri hasn’t made me feel deceived.
I believe Christine has betrayed me.” The marriage has essentially remained the same for Meri. She claimed, “My relationship with Kody has not progressed as far as a husband and wife relationship. “He doesn’t have any interest in that. It just is what it is, after all. Where we are is there.”
The ex-couples, who are mom and dad to son Paedon, and daughters Aspyn, Mykelti, Gwendolyn, and Truely struggle with how to break the news to their youngest. (Kody’s spouses together had 18 children in all.) at the same time, Christine is focused on her move to Utah.
“Some of the older kids are aware that I’m abandoning Kody, but I need to tell Truely first, and her response is what worries me the most right now,” Christine said. “Because I want Truely to still think of Kody and me as a team, I want to tell her together.” Later in the show, Christine disclosed that Truely had accidentally learned the information by hearing her talking to her daughter Mykelti about the relocation.
She remarked, “I was going to speak with Truely with Kody, but I didn’t have a choice anymore.” Christine added, “I just said the hardest thing to my small kid.” “I’m speechless at this point. I have no idea what will improve it. I know that this is the day I will always look back on when I crushed Truely’s heart. Even though I know it’s correct, today is just challenging.”
