Sarah Ferguson has given the public an update on the state of Queen Elizabeth II’s corgis.
Sarah Ferguson Gives Fans An Insight On Living With Queen Elizabeth II’s Corgis-‘It’s A Big Honour’
The corgis were ultimately left without an owner following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II last month. And for Sarah, the corgis had a lot of history since she was the person who had initially gifted them to Prince Andrew’s mother.
So once the former monarch died, it was only fitting that the corgis went back to live with Sarah and Andrew. The former duo just so happened to live near Windsor Castle. In the process of doing so, the corgis have joined some terriers who already reside there.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Sarah said: “It’s a big honour. [The corgis are] national treasures. They all [dogs] balance out. The carpet moves as I move but I’ve got used to it now.”
Dogs do have a lot of history when we look at the timeline of events that led to them going to Queen Elizabeth II.
It is claimed that Andrew had gifted some dogs, Muick and Fergus, to her following the death of the former monarch’s husband, Prince Phillip, in order to put her in better spirits.
So when Fergus died, Sarah apparently gave another dog by the name of Sandy. With that being said, the dog’s could not be in a better home since Andrew and Sarah know all about them.
The fans on social media welcomed Sarah’s positive update. People felt that the dogs would naturally have been missing their owner but were in good hand nonetheless.
One person wrote: “That’s good to know. The poor corgis must be missing the Queen.” It is fitting that the dogs have stayed in the family, and with that, it brings back lots of positive memories in the process.
