It wasn’t too long ago that AEW was the hottest wrestling company in the world as they were fresh, exciting, and the place to be.
While they still have their moments, the perspective has shifted over the last few months and AEW’s roster has become bloated like the WWE’s before they released a ton of talent between 2020 and 2021.
With Tony Kahn rotating wrestlers in and out of the shows to keep things fresh, many that went there have voiced their disappointment at how they’re being booked and in some ways it seems like they’re forgotten.
That and more will play into anyone’s decision to go there, and it looks like Taya Valkyrie is the latest that’s unsure about going there.
Taking her time
Since being released by the WWE after being a valuable member of the NXT roster, Valkyrie has taken the wrestling world by storm as she’s appeared in the NWA, MLW, Impact Wrestling, and AAA.
She’s also won championships in MLW, Impact, and AAA. The short horror comedy film she and her husband John Morrison wrote and produced is moving closer to being released as well.
One company she hasn’t worked for yet is AEW, but there’s plenty of talent there she said she’d love to work with when she discussed it with wrestlinginc.com.
“I just think that everything has to have its right time, you know? I don’t think that I want to be thrown into something that’s just going to be thrown away, or that I want to be in a position that doesn’t make everybody happy … I want everyone to benefit from whatever we do.”
She listed Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter as two she hasn’t worked with previously and others she has a history with and would love to work with again like Athena, Jade Cargill, and Kiera Hogan.
“There’s just so much talent over there that I would love to play with. So we’ll see, you know? There’s only so many days in a month, so you never know.”
If there’s one thing we can count on in the wrestling business it’s never say never.
While Valkyrie would greatly enhance AEW’s women’s division and she’d join her husband there, as her fans we hope she wouldn’t be among the group that’s frustrated with their booking.
In the end, it’s up to her and what she thinks is in her best interest and we’ll cheer her on no matter where she goes.
