Photos from the filming of ‘The Crown’ leaked and it shows the crew filming in Paris, near the place where Princess Diana lost her life. According to the leaked images, the crew is currently filming the scene of Princess Diana’s death. Despite the fact that they promised that they will skip this part, or they will make it as subtle and as non-explicit as possible.
“We’ve been dreading getting to this point. The countdown is two weeks. While we’re calmly carrying on it’s fair to acknowledge that there’s a certain anxiety. A palpable sense of being slightly on edge. I mean, there’s bombshell sensitivity surrounding this one.” – an insider from the filming crew told Deadline a couple of weeks ago.
The Crown Series Crew Films Near The Actual Place Of Princess Diana’s Death
However, now it seems like they are going against their words and they film the scene. In the sixth season of the series that is to air in late 2023, people will be able to see the death of Princess Diana in Paris, exactly as it happened more than 25 years ago.
In the photos that were first published by The Daily Mail, we can see the resemblance to the accident. While the black S class Mercedes is driving toward the tunnel we all feel the repulsion of what happened next. Inside the vehicle, Dodi Fayed and the driver Henri Paul accompanied Princess Diana on their way to the hotel. However, none of them lived to see the light out of the tunnel from the other side.
Princess Diana died at an age of 36 years inside the Pont de I’Alma tunnel in August 1997. How this will be presented in the Crown, we are about to see. Netflix reported that the fifth season of ‘The Crown’ is based on ‘true events’. However, they disclaimed that the scenes are a ‘fictional dramatization’ of them. So we might expect some controversial detail to be added.
Critics aimed a lot of comments at the series in the recent period. In the last season, there are numerous scenes that are subject to criticism. This went to the extreme that Sir John Major and Dame Judi Dench requested each episode to start with a disclaimer.
The teaser clip for season five of ‘The Crown’ is out now, and it is as controversial as it can get. It includes a clip from the Panorama interview of Princess Diana with Martin Bashir.
The interview is most probably the most controversial video including someone from the British Royal family. The BBC apologized after airing it and promised to never play it again. They gave the money raised by it to seven charities in the UK.
