Elon Musk takes many serious problems to Twitter. He asked Twitterati if they support him selling 10% of his Tesla stock back in November 2021, whether they support him in buying the social media, etc. However, his most recent poll got him into a brawl with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Elon Musk took to Twitter to claim that Ukraine should remain ‘neutral’ to solve the conflict with Russia. And the solution to the conflict… yes, Elon Musk has an idea for this as well. An idea that, according to the poll, is not acceptable to the majority of his Twitter followers.
Elon Musk Asks Twitter To Decide On Ukraine’s Future – Volodymyr Zelensky Responds
The Tesla CEO claims that a peace deal should take place between the two enraged sides, involving the recognition of Crimea, a territory that has been annexed by Russia in 2014.
Even though Elon musk questioned the relevance of the referendum held in the ‘annexed territories’, he suggested that it should be re-held once more, but this time ‘under the supervision of the UN, or some other trusted entity’.
It is no secret that Elon Musk considers himself a genius. And he might as well be one but in his field of study and work. Most certainly not politics. However, he claims that his suggested solution to the problem is most likely to be the outcome in the end in any case. The only thing that will make difference is when it will be taken into consideration. He insinuated that the sooner both sides take his solution the better. Prolonging it will only result in additional deaths on both sides.
“Ukraine-Russia Peace:
– Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is the will of the people.
– Crimea is formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).
– Water supply to Crimea assured.
– Ukraine remains neutral.” – Elon Musk’s suggestion reads.
The results of the poll are not in Elon Musk’s favor in any case. When he posted the poll, the results were close, however, now some period after, more than 60% of the poll answers are against his suggestion.
“This is highly likely to be the outcome in the end – just a question of how many die before then.” – Elon Musk replied to his poll.
In the meantime, the billionaire received a massive backlash for his tweets. One of the first officials to reply to Musk is Ukraine’s Ambassador to Germany Andrij Melnyk.
“F*** off is my very diplomatic reply to you. The only outcome is that now no Ukrainian will ever buy your f***ing Tesla crap. So good luck to you.” – the ambassador wrote – forgetting about Musk’s donations of Starlink kits to the Ukrainian military and civilians.
The poll has more than 2.5 million votes in under 24 hours. Since they are not in Musk’s favor, who knows, maybe he will blame it on ‘bot attacks’.
“Wonder how many bots were activated to turn around the original result.” – one user noticed and Elon was fast to reply. “Indeed. Biggest bot attack I’ve ever seen.”
President Volodymyr Zelensky took notice of Elon Musk’s poll as well. Even though we are not certain if he voted, or not, he decided to counter with a poll of his own asking “Which Elon Musk do you like more? One who supports Ukraine or one who supports Russia.”
However, Elon Musk apparently has an answer to every question that gets in his way. So he decides to back his reasoning once more by doing some ‘happy mathematics’.
“Russia is doing partial mobilization. They go to full war mobilization if Crimea is at risk. Death on both sides will be devastating.” – Elon Musk tweeted. “Russia has >3 times the population of Ukraine, so victory for Ukraine is unlikely in total war. If you care about the people of Ukraine, seek peace.”
Even though peace is what everyone wants, sometimes there are things that need defending by any means necessary. In fact, all of the ‘brilliant suggestions’ that Musk gave after 8 months of military operations in Ukraine were identical to the suggestions that the Russian officials gave to the Ukrainian government before the war started.
At the meetings that were held before the start of the war, Russia demanded Ukraine recognize the territory of Crimea as Russian. In addition, they demanded Ukraine demilitarize and stay neutral in the years to follow.
Ukraine dismissed these requests. That’s why Russia invaded in the first place. So what Elon is suggesting is telling the families of all the people that gave their lives defending their country that their fathers, brothers, sisters, mothers, uncles, and aunts died for no reason. Twitter reacted beautifully to Elon’s polls and tweets.
“When you say something that is both dumb nonsense and unpopular, the response isn’t a bot attack. It is people calling you out for saying dumb nonsense…” – one user noted.
“I’m a deputy of Kyiv city Council and an officer. I’m verified by Twitter, as yourself, and I testify that those words of yours are absurd and speak of your narrow-mindedness, dullness, and some serious gaps in history. But for now, it looks like you’re full of Russian sh*t.” – Alina Mykhailova‘s reply states.
The world is together on this and supports Ukraine massively. President Biden and his administration also pointed out one possible end of the war. That is if Russia stops the invasion, retreats, and leaves the Ukrainian people to continue their life in their sovereign country.
