Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are constantly in the newsletters. Most of the time they are mentioned with a negative connotation, but as once a wise man said, there is no bad publicity – there is only publicity.
But will the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have anything more to offer after they publish the book and the series? Experts claim that they won’t. Experts claim that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are at a big risk of losing more and more deals by being simply – boring. Public relations experts claim that the success of Prince Harry’s controversial memoir will determine the future of the ex-royal couple. If the book doesn’t succeed to hit the bull’s eye, there is a possibility that they will run out of money-making possibilities.
What Will Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Do After Publishing Their Books And Docuseries? – Is This Their Last Step Before Becoming Infinitely Boring?
According to unofficial sources, Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’, which the publisher announced yesterday, will bring him $40 million in total. Allegedly, Prince Harry already received half of the money in advance. His deal is to write three titles and will get the remaining money in two more installments.
The announcement states that the book will be out on January 10th. Nearly at the same time, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s controversial Netflix documentary will air. The rumors are that the Duke and Duchess will get about $100 million for it.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s financial state is at an enviable level. The Duchess also hit an additional $100 million deal with Spotify, so they don’t lack money at the moment. However, as they fired off everything at once, will they be able to keep up the pace and continue making money? According to the marketing expert Mark Borkowski – certainly not.
“The most important thing in the modern world is that they generate column inches and eyeballs – everything will come down to the success of the book and the deals with Netflix and Spotify.” – Mark Borkowski told MailOnline. “If they do well then they could still be attractive to media outlets looking for subscribers. Given they’re no longer connected to the Royal Family with the exposure that brings they need to create their own energy. The danger is they become boring.”
According to the expert, a smart move that the couple could do next is to team up, or partner with some of the Silicon Valley tech companies – such as Meta. Mark Zuckerberg invested billions in his idea for the Metaverse, and this caused the share price of his company to plummet. If Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are smart enough, they could get into the suggested business, Since they are on it, they can strike a deal with the company to further exploit their private life for money.
“There’s a bit of a downturn in tech at the moment but I’d expect that as the dust settles we could see them sign another deal in that industry.” – Mark Borkowski predicted. “Meta is facing huge problems so who better to generate a conversation around their idea of the metaverse than Harry and Meghan? They could be promoting it or creating their own virtual world themselves.”
Brand experts also claim that this is a moment that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle need to take advantage of. If they do not use the opportunity they risk people losing interest in them. That would cause difficulties when they would want to sell out again.
Nick Ede, a brand expert, claims that Spare could boost Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s commercial opportunities.
“I think the next step for Harry will be the very lucrative public speaking circuit.” – Ede told MailOnline.“Harry will read extracts from his book at events around the world with a Q&A. I also think he will make a lot of money through an exclusive sit-down interview. He can sit with a journalist to promote the book. These kinds of sit-downs can command in the six to seven figures and I’m sure they’ll be a bidding war. And with the book being so explosive he could even look to sell the film rights to it. Again that would be highly lucrative.”
It is interesting that both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem not to give two damns about how they make the royal family feel. All of their recent moves ‘hurts’ the royal family in one way, or the other. For example, Prince Harry’s memoir. The publisher advertised it as a shocking story told by the young Prince. As a ‘tell-all’ memoir, raw and ‘unflinchingly honest’.
In addition to the above, the Royal family was not even informed of the name of the book. The publishers announced it, and that’s when the royals found out as well. The book’s name, Spare refers to Prince Harry being the younger brother and literally, a spare for Prince William. The Spanish version of the book is En La Sombra, in translation – “In the shadow”.
According to Meghan Markle’s biographer, Tom Bower, this is the best time for publishing the book. The couple’s Netflix series will create the needed extra publicity for the book to do even better when out.
“The curtain raiser to the Sussexes’ vengeance will be their Netflix series. A lucrative trailblazer to the book. Clearly updated to describe their unexpected lengthy stay in London during the Queen’s funeral.” – Bower said for MailOnline. “Viewers and readers can expect scathing comments about their treatment by Harry’s family. Wallowing in self-pity, the Sussexes will portray themselves as victims of uncaring charlatans.”
Until now, both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry refused to stay silent on many things surrounding their life. They rushed to tell it all as soon as possible. What do you think? Is it a good move? Or they risked it all and will become boring in a couple of months?
