Rey Fenix & Luchasaurus both put their eyes towards the AEW All-Atlantic Championship, and Orange Cassidy would decide to once again be a fighting champion. After taking down both Preston Vance & RUSH on a recent episode of AEW Rampage, Orange Cassidy would set up another triple threat – and will take on both Rey Fenix & Luchasaurus here tonight. The winner of this match will also hand pick the next challenger for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship, allowing for some extra intrigue.
Orange Cassidy Survives Another Triple Threat
As the bell rang, both Fenix & OC would look to cut Luchasaurus down, working together to drop the giant. He’d be sent out to the floor, and Fenix would use his speed edge over OC to hit a big kick, before an arm drag into a foot stomp attempt. OC dodged and hit a massive spinning DDT, spiking Fenix and getting a two count.
Luchasaurus would hit the ring, rushing down both OC & Fenix with body splashes in the corner. Fenix would avoid a chokeslam, before being levelled with a throat thrust – with OC taking one soon after, and rolling from the ring. Luchasaurus would throw Fenix around, only to be cut down with an Orange Punch to the jaw.
A double dive onto Luchasaurus would lead to OC getting driven into the steps, before Fenix took a chokeslam through the time keepers table. OC would be taken up the stage – and Jack Perry would save him from taking a chokeslam on the pyro grate, which happened to Perry at All Out.
After running Christian Cage off, he’d drive Luchasaurus off the stage with a crossbody through some tables. Back in the ring, Fenix & OC were now in a singles match. PAC would rush the ring with the hammer, telling Fenix to use it and bring the belt back to Death Triangle. Fenix refused, and was nearly rolled up for the finish. He’d try for a cutter, but was cut from the air with an Orange Punch.
Katsuyori Shibata To Challenge Orange Cassidy On Friday
PAC would attack OC after the bell, but we’d hear the music of Katsuyori Shibata. He’d hit the ring for the save – and once again locked eyes with Orange Cassidy, after an interaction at Forbidden Door. Cassidy had the dream match contract, and he’d challenge Shibata for a match this Friday on AEW Rampage in Atlantic City – and it was accepted.
This is his first match since January 4th, and only second proper match since his return from a career threatening injury back in 2018. Will Katsuyori Shibata defeat Orange Cassidy in his first match since January? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
