Cheryl Burke got very candid about her final time as a professional dancer on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’
DWTS: Cheryl Burke Gets Emotional After Leaving The Show-‘I’ve Been Trying To Hold Back The Tears’
The star has had plenty of memories on the franchise after she became the first female professional to win the show. Not only that, but she also happened to become the first one to have won on two occasions, as well as it being on consecutive series.
And after having been on the franchise for 26 seasons, it is fair to say that she will hold the show in high regard. With that being said, Cheryl did become overwhelmed at the fact that she was going to be hanging up her dancing shoes.
In her comments, she said: “I am overwhelmed. I’ve been trying to hold back the tears, I would say, because I wanted to really perform the best I could.
“Now with all of that behind me, it’s bittersweet…but I have to just trust my intuition.” Cheryl was not the only one to say goodbye to the show, though. Judge Len Goodman also recently confirmed that the current series would be his last.
This was on the grounds that he wanted to spend more time with his family. And given that this was a transition into a new phase for both Len and Cheryl, the latter compared it to that of her divorce to Matthew Lawrence.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “[It’s been] so hard. This is like another type of divorce, but an amicable one.” The fans on social media were very sad to see Cheryl go.
And in the process of doing so, they sent her some very warm words to mark someone who has been an OG member of the show. One person wrote: “Going to miss seeing Cheryl Burke on #DTWS as a pro dancer.”
Whatever Cheryl ends up doing, if she can do it half as well as her dancing, then she should be just fine. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
