Joe Rogan is close with Elon Musk. Now that the latter acquired Twitter, Joe Rogan is all about praising the billionaire for the move.
Joe Rogan thinks that Elon Musk will make Twitter significantly better. And he is not afraid to claim that publicly. In a recent episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe Rogan hosted Suzanne Santos and shared his thoughts on numerous topics with her. While the pair spoke about the ‘controversial’ COVID-19 vaccines, training, and diet, they didn’t skip speaking about politics. And the political conversations – led to Twitter and Elon Musk’s acquisition.
Joe Rogan Mocks People Who Left Twitter After Elon Musk Acquisition On His Podcast
“Have you been paying attention to Twitter, how Twitter’s now fact-checking all Biden statements?” – Joe Rogan asked his guest. “Every time Biden says something and posts it on Twitter, Twitter’s, like, nope; actually, that’s not true. Like this is, this is inaccurate.”
Joe Rogan was referring to Joe Biden’s tweet about taxes. The President took to Twitter to claim that there were corporations in America that accumulatively made $40 billion profit, but didn’t pay any taxes. Well, seems like each post like this will go through a fact-checker from now on.
“Let me give you the facts.” – Joe Biden tweeted. ”In 2020, 55 corporations made $40 billion. And they paid zero federal taxes. My Inflation Reduction Act puts an end to this.”
Since Elon Musk stepped into Twitter’s CEO office a new service called Community Notes is implemented. While you can still post anything – posts like this that allegedly present facts are getting double-checked. The service points out if the posted ‘fact’ is actually true.
For this particular tweet, the Community Notes added that “out of the 55 corporations the tweet references, only 14 had earnings greater than $1 billion and would be eligible under Biden’s tax law.”
Joe Rogan and his guest comment on this and agree that it is a good thing. Having Twitter do unbiased fact-checks for everybody is something that deserves praise.
“But they’re doing it for everybody too — it’s not just him. It’s fair.” – Suzanne Santo said. “But what I cannot understand is people being, like, I’m leaving Twitter because, without censorship, this will be the death of democracy. Are you f***ing serious? Like, how dumb?”
But will it be like this? While conservatives are praising Musk for the takeover, liberals are not happy with it. There is doubt present amongst the Democrats that Elon Musk will bias the social media to be more ‘republican-friendly’.
There are many celebrities that left Twitter since Elon Musk took it over. These celebrities include Mick Foley – a wrestler, Howard Dean – a Democrat party personality, Ken Olin – an executive producer, Alex Winter – an actor, Amber Heard – an actress, etc.
While celebrities reportedly delete their accounts from Twitter, Elon Musk brags that there has been a raise in the number of accounts on the platform.
“It’s wild. But it’s also a thing you’re supposed to say, ‘I’m leaving Twitter because Elon Musk is evil.’” – Joe Rogan made fun of the people who left. “Yeah, like, him running Twitter. I think it will be great. I think it’s going to be very interesting.”
However, not everyone shares Joe Rogan’s opinion on this. There is a massive backlash online from people criticizing Elon Musk. His policy of reducing censorship may result in uncontrolled hate speech and cyberbullying.
