King Charles III has massive regrets about making Prince William and Prince Harry walk behind their mother Princess Diana’s coffin.
King Charles III Has Regrets About Making William And Harry Walk Behind Diana’s Coffin-‘It Haunts Him,’ Says Christopher Andersen
That is according to royal author Christopher Andersen. The two brothers were very young at the time with William being 15, while Harry was just 12.
And their mother’s death is something that has impacted the brothers, as Harry in particular was very vocal about how he even considered using alcohol and drugs to deal with her death.
With that being said, Charles may not have done this if he could turn back time. In his comments, Christopher said: “I think it haunts him, as it haunts them.
“Harry uses terms like the triggering of even flying into London, and it reminds him of that day when he had to walk behind the coffin.” Much in the same way, Harry may have been triggered once again since he did attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
And her death was even more burdensome for Harry since he reportedly turned down the opportunity to see her at Balmoral prior to her death. Not only that, but it is claimed that he arrived at Balmoral once she had passed.
And yet, walking behind a coffin is something that William’s children had also experienced. Kate Middleton was criticised for allowing Prince George and Princess Charlotte to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in light of the impact it could have had on their mental health.
The fans on social media slammed Charles’ lack of consideration for his children. This was on the basis that he had ultimately been unfaithful prior to Diana’s death.
One person wrote: “Well, he should have known better but was too busy with Camilla.” There is no way of ever going back from this incident, but perhaps there is a lesson to be learnt for future royals from this moving forward.
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
