Yesterday we saw that House of Torture & BULLET CLUB will pull no punches when they cross in tournament action with Super Junior Tag League, and tonight the same will be true in World Tag League. Even with Bad Luck Fale & Yujiro Takahashi as old friends, they’ll be keen on getting their team the victory tonight. With Chase Owens by his side, Fale has a 2-0 tag record over EVIL & Takahashi, and could make that 3-0 tonight.
BULLET CLUB & House of Torture Is A Recipe For Chaos
This would start with a four way eye poke, before Fale was shoved to the floor – with Owens being thrown out moments later. Owens would be whacked with a steel chair by EVIL, before being taken into the ring. EVIL would be dropped by a rushing lariat – but Owens was unable to remain in control. Takahashi got the tag, and would hit some clubbing blows to the face of Owens on the mat.
EVIL would keep the pressure on with a Fisherman Buster, before Owens was whipped into the mysteriously exposed House of Torture corner. Dick Togo got some cheap shots in, before Fale was able to get the tag. Fale would accidentally run the referee down, allowing for SHO to try to attack – before being dropped with the Grenade Launcher.
Togo would hit the ring to choke Fale out, but was unable to get much damage in before being thrown aside. Fale would get his hands on Takahashi and hit The Grenade – and this one was over. On the floor, EVIL was down after a low blow – and this was pure chaos, but don’t worry – BULLET CLUB is fine.
Hiroshi Tanahashi & Toru Yano Generally Can Defeat Lance Archer & Minoru Suzuki
There’s a lot of history to be found with Toru Yano, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Minoru Suzuki & Lance Archer. Generally Tanahashi & Yano are persistent thorns in the side of Suzuki & Archer – and tonight, will look to make another victory over the daunting Suzuki-gun unit. However, Suzuki & Archer are riding high after a victory over Owens & Fale, and might be hard to stop now that they’re moving in this tournament.
Tanahashi would kick things off against Archer, looking for a German Suplex to no success. Archer swung back with an elbow smash, and Tanahashi avoided before hitting a dropkick to the knee. Yano would call Suzuki out after a tag, only to rip a corner pad off and get kicked in the face. This one turned into a ringside brawl, with Suzuki-gun easily maintaining the upper hand.
Back in the ring, Suzuki would rake his boot across the face of Yano, before Archer nailed a set of stiff forearm smashes to the face. Suzuki applied a hanging armbar off the apron to Yano, while Archer distracted the referee. Yano would take more stiff strikes in the corner, as Tanahashi tried to hype his partner up from a safe distance.
When Suzuki & Archer Are On The Same Page – Everybody Dies
Yano would be thrown into the corner he previously exposed, but was able to catch Suzuki with a Manhattan Drop and complete the tag. Tanahashi would hit the flying forearm smash, before taking Archer off the apron with an armbreaker. Suzuki took a Dragon Screw Leg Whip, but was able to find his feet before a snapmare into a PK on Tanahashi.
Tanahashi & Suzuki would trade strikes in the middle of the ring – ending in a double down. Suzuki made the tag first, allowing Archer to run Yano off the apron. Tanahashi would try to strike away at Archer, but was quickly overwhelmed. Blackout was set, but Tanahashi countered to hit the Twist & Shout neckbreaker instead.
Yano got the tag and was able to roll Archer up for a two count, before Archer would come off the ropes with a crossbody to both Tanahashi & Yano. Suzuki would hold Yano in the corner for Archer to rush in with a back elbow smash – and to hoist Yano up for the Blackout. Suzuki & Archer move to four points, and might be impossible to stop if they keep this pace up. Next match for them is Aussie Open.
