Prince William and Kate Middleton have been slammed over their comments concerning the cost of living crisis.
Fans Bash William And Kate’s Disingenuous Sympathy For People Amid Cost Of Living Crisis-‘Kate Will Do A Lot To Help Like Recycling Buttons’
The rising costs in the UK have seen significant worries over energy prices and food costs due to the increasing dependence on food banks.
While William and Kate are not going to suffer the challenges that will impact most of the nation, by virtue of the monarchy being in part funded by the taxpayer, the couple have attempted to resonate with those struggles.
With that being said, the two made their way to visit Scarborough. This was done to mark a collaboration between their Royal Foundation and local groups.
This has had the impact of allegedly raising £400,000 in funding. And in doing so, the couple discussed with the community over how the funding could be used to support mental health.
In his comments, William stated: “I think bringing people together and showing what can be done when a community helps together collaboratively is really something we would like to follow up on and I hope that can be represented more widely across the country.”
This venture is very timely since Scarborough is regarded as one of the least well-off areas in England. It is being clouded by mass unemployment which has had the impact of affecting the life chances of the next generation.
Jan Garrill, who happens to be the Chief Executive of the Two Ridings Community Foundation that has worked with the Royal Foundation, had this to say: “[That focus on place and people is great for us. It amplifies what we do in a way.”
The fans on social media bashed the couple. This was on the grounds that it was desperately attempting to come across as relatable.
One person wrote: “Kate will do a lot to help…like recycling buttons from one dress to another, like she did last time!!”
