Queen Elizabeth II and Tom Cruise reportedly struck up a friendship prior to her death.
Queen Elizabeth II And Tom Cruise Had A Good Friendship Prior To Her Death-‘She Loved Seeing Him’
According to reports, the pair got really close in the summer before her eventual death. The actor just so happened to appear at the former monarch’s Platinum Jubilee which was designed to celebrate her 70th year in charge.
But given that she had been experiencing issues with her mobility, the two were not actually able to meet in person. Not to worry, though, Queen Elizabeth II would go out of her way to make sure that she could meet Cruise at her own convenience.
A source told the Sunday Times of London the following: “She was really disappointed not to have met Tom at the pageant, so he was invited to have a special tour of Windsor Castle with everything laid on for him.
“Afterwards, just the two of them had tea together.” This is not the only member that Cruise has close ties to when it comes to the Royal Family.
He also had the opportunity to meet Prince William and Kate Middleton during the premiere of his movie ‘Top Gun: Maverick.”
That is when Cruise turned a few heads, as he grabbed Middleton’s hand to walk her up some stairs, leaving William watching on. Despite having that experience, it appeared that nothing could top the meeting with Queen Elizabeth II.
The following comments confirmed as much: “She loved seeing him and they really hit it off, so much so that she invited him back for lunch. He was even allowed to fly in by helicopter.”
The two were scheduled to have a further lunch, but those plans would end up being scuppered as her death prevented it from coming into fruition. But in any event, Cruise has managed to do what people can only dream of.
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
