In professional wrestling, things are more fun with a load of factions running about. This is something that was clear during the Attitude Era – when the likes of D-Generation X, Nation of Domination, and The Ministry of Darkness were running wild in WWE, and the New World Order made WCW the biggest thing in the industry. With Triple H now running Monday Night RAW & Smackdown Live, we’ve seen a rise in factions, with The Bloodline and Judgement Day as the biggest groups – though Triple H wasn’t originally big on the second group.
Triple H Has Come Around To Enjoy The Judgement Day
Originally formed by Edge during WrestleMania 36, as he took Damien Priest under his wing. Rhea Ripley would join soon after, before Finn Balor would take control of the group from Edge. Since then, Balor has defeated Edge in an I Quit match at WWE Extreme Rules, and Dominik Mysterio would be added to the group as a fourth member. They’re currently feuding with AJ Styles & The Good Brothers, who recently brought Mia Yim back to WWE to even the odds.
It seems like this faction will be around to stay – which was not always the case. A recent report from WrestleVotes would contain the following information about Triple H and his thoughts on the faction.
“I know back in late July or early August, whenever this whole shift happened, from what I was told Hunter wasn’t really cool with Judgment Day. Not personally, but he just didn’t like the idea. But since he’s grown behind it, and I think that they’re going to be around for longer than anticipated.”
Prior to the retirement of Vince McMahon, it was expected that this faction would take a supernatural turn – but those plans were clearly dropped. Instead, they are simply a dominant heel faction. It’s the best that Finn Balor has been presented on the WWE main roster, with him showing more glimmers of his two runs in NXT or roots in New Japan Pro Wrestling where he formed the Bullet Club faction.
