Kanye West Led Out Of Skecher’s Building Following His Antisemitism Speech
Kanye’s representatives did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on the incidence. The rapper’s visit to Skechers came less than 24 hours after shoe brand, Adidas ended its lucrative Yeezy partnership with him, pointing out that the company “does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech.” Financial analysts say that Adidas could lose $240 million from the split, reports NBC News. The consequences for his hate speech doesn’t end here for Kanye.
GAP, which had previously ended its partnership with the “Jesus Is King” star, also made a promise get rid of all products that were created during the defunct collaboration from its stores. Kanye’s deals started to collapse weeks after outcries sparked due to the rapper’s violent antisemitic comments on social media.
The past weekend was busy in Los Angeles when banners were rolled up on a 405 Freeway overpass by a neo-nazi group that featured antisemitic signs and referenced the rap artist. A number of celebrities, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Lizzo, John Legend, and more have publicly called out Kanye for his negative comments, while social media support for Jewish people has spread after Jessica Seinfeld kicked off a campaign.
On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, NFL star Aaron Donald and NBA player Jaylen Brown each revealed that they have left Kanye’s Donda Sports agency.
