In a recent interview with Pierce Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo starts firing toward his former teammates, among which Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville. He called Wayne Rooney a rat and asked for the support of his audience, as that is everything he needs to continue with his career.
As we can all imagine, Wayne Rooney, nor any of the people mentioned in the interview, didn’t like these comments. Wayne Rooney labeled the interview as strange and hit back at his former teammate by saying that the age catches up on Ronaldo, and that’s why he is in a panic and doesn’t know how to act.

“Obviously, he did an interview and it’s viral. It’s a bit strange, some of the comments are strange.” – Wayne Rooney said. “I’m sure Manchester United will deal with it once they’ve seen the full interview. They’ll take the action that they need to.”
“Well, listen, Cristiano Ronaldo’s a fantastic player. As I’ve said before, he and Messi are the two best players probably to play the game.” – Wayne Rooney continued. “And, again, it’s not a criticism. What I say is – age comes to all of us. And Cristiano is obviously feeling now that he finally has to deal with that.”
Cristiano Ronaldo is in a beef with Wayne Rooney even before this clash. Previously, he accused Wayne Rooney of criticizing him because he is jealous of him. Seems like the Portuguese star doesn’t have any respect for the English football legend.
“I don’t know why he criticizes me so badly. Probably because he finished his career and I’m still playing at a high level.” – Cristiano Ronaldo said. “I’m not going to say that I’m looking better than him. Which is true.”
Wayne Rooney hit back at Cristiano Ronaldo after Pierce Morgan put light on their mutual repulsion. He asked Cristiano Ronaldo if he would prefer ‘more pounds in the bank, or more Instagram followers’. He specifically asked for the answer that Wayne Rooney would like less.
“I’m just trying to work out how Wayne Rooney could hate you even more!” – Pierce Morgan said.
“Not only him, imagine the rest of the rats they are going to criticize me too. But it is good to still be the number one.” – Cristiano Ronaldo replied.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney were friends at one point of their careers. However, their relationship started to crumble after Wayne Rooney criticized Cristiano Ronaldo’s behavior in a match against Tottenham.
