Rounding out the trifecta of why WWE Smackdown is the best wrestling show on television today, is the abundance of talent that they have to go with their new and ongoing storylines and also the focus that the shows have from week to week. While we can’t say that this show alone has more talent than any other show, the lethal three piece combo that they come with is too much for any show to handle.
The Talent on Smackdown
This is the most puzzling part to the whole equation to me. How is Smackdown hitting it out of the park when it comes to talent, while Raw, which has three hours to fill, is not doing the same.
I fully expect the next wave of new wrestlers to come up to the main roster to go to Raw, but they have had a lot of new faces over there and I am not interested in them at all.
Could it be the lack of compelling storylines on the brand or maybe because I don’t like the wrestlers.
I think that it is a mix of both but Raw is making an attempt with getting Gargano, Ciampa, Dexter Lumis, Bayley, IYO Sky, Dakota Kia, Nikki Cross, Mia Yim, and Cody.
That sound good on paper but if you look at who Smackdown got in the same time, there is a clear difference, especially with how they are being used. Bray, Karion, Santos Escobar and his group, LA Knight, Emma, HitRow, Braun Strowman, and Solo all get television time.
Even if you look at the existing talent that both shows have, Smackdown’s crew seem to have more meaningful time in the two hours that they have versus Raw and their three hours.
The only people who really get over on Raw consistently is Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Bianca Belair, and the Judgement Day. Everyone else is basically treading water.
I think that HHH is trying to get to WrestleMania so that he can hit a reset on a lot of things in the company, especially the World titles and the Tag Team titles.
