Over the past few years, we’ve truly seen an evolution from Jon Moxley. It’s becoming hard to recall his previous character of Dean Ambrose, a role he played for many years in WWE. Ambrose was a more sports entertaining version of Moxley, something that Moxley does not look back on fondly – though William Regal feels Moxley will eventually come around to how many incredible things he did within WWE.

William Regal Hopes Jon Moxley Will Recognize He Was An Incredible Sports Entertainer As Well

Regal would have a chance to discuss what he has been remembered for in recent years, and was able to relate those experiences back to Moxley. He’d have the following to say about Jon Moxley’s WWE run on the Gentleman’s Villian podcast.

“I wasn’t on the main roster in the last whatever amount of years he was there, but he’s got an incredible ability to do entertaining stuff, and I hope one day, instead of looking at it as a bad thing, he realises how good that is, because he did that. If you look at that, that’s sports entertainment at its best. I know he’s somewhat anti-WWE at the moment and he has been for a while, but he was so good at that stuff. He wants to be a, whatever style of wrestler he is. I’ve personally found when I do autograph signings, the things that people remember me for, and not all the wrestling I’ve done, it’s the entertainment I’ve done. So I hope he one day realises how good he is at that and opens up a little bit more to that and realises what incredible things that he did in WWE.”

When it comes to Moxley’s time in WWE, most people will remember his time alongside Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins as The Shield – as well as his incredible feud with William Regal in the predecessor of NXT of FCW. However, for Moxley – his final botched heel run in 2018 is still fresh in his mind, which has led him to truly focus on a separation between his current run in AEW and his past of WWE.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
