‘General Hospital’ (GH) Spoilers are waiting for the bottom to fall out from under Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) after her latest effort to keep Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) out of Willow Tate (Katelyn MacMullen)’s life.
She could explain away lying about the DNA test when it’d come to light, but she’s not going to be able to explain away her latest manipulation/deception.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Carly and Willow are Two Peas in a Pod
Granted, if Willow wouldn’t be so stubborn and let her family know she has leukemia, chances are Carly wouldn’t have gone to these lengths to keep her lie hidden.
To be honest, we’re not sure Carly would admit what she did even under those circumstances. We’d like to think otherwise, but it’s hard to tell with her anymore.
But she went too far this time, and we doubt she’ll be held accountable.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Carly’s cult
Since her split with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Carly’s undergone a metamorphosis from hating Sonny and Nina to accepting what happened and moving on.
Unfortunately, she did too good a job at teaching those qualities to her son and daughter, and Willow is the type that always follows a strong leader.
In this case, she’s following Carly to perfection when it comes to being stubborn and refusing to see another side, such as Nina’s.
While Carly’s softened and opened herself up to other possibilities, Willow hasn’t and she’s holding steadfast to protecting herself from the pity of others, or is it because she thinks she’ll look weak if others know she’s sick?
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers can understand both aspects of it, especially after she spent her life being a victim to one manipulator or another. Unfortunately for her, she’s at the mercy of another kind of manipulator.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Carly’s blind to her actions
Carly isn’t a bad person, but she falls into tunnel vision way too easily and allows her fear of what might happen to override her good sense.
She then becomes a uber manipulator since everyone trusts her.
She thinks keeping the DNA test secret was closing the door on Nina getting into Willow and Wiley’s loves, but since this is a soap, another door was about to be kicked open.
Now, it’s about protecting her secret and facing she’s doing exactly what Nina did, which will put them on equal footing and fracturing Carly and her children’s narrative.
The added twist will come thanks to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) when he starts to put two and two together and figures out her secret.
When this happens, it’ll be interesting to see how Carly responds to the news about Willow’s illness and/or her lie being busted open.
