Orange Cassidy is a fighting champion despite his lazy nature, accepting the challenge of anyone who asks. Kip Sabian has been recently going after Cassidy, but took Cassidy’s offer as an insult – due to Sabian not being 100%. Instead, Cassidy told him to find a challenger then. Sabian made some calls, and now we have the debut of former NXT UK star Trent Seven. With 12 years of in-ring experience and an expert in British Strong Style, it’s hard to deny his skills.
Best Friends Get Lured Away From Ringside
Cassidy would try to put his hands in his pockets, only for Seven to instead put them into position for a moustache twirl. Seven would start with a set of chops, before trying for a running chop in the corner with Cassidy blocking with a five five. Cassidy would take a scoop slam, and rolled to the ring – where he was flanked by Best Friends & Danhausen.
Kip Sabian would try to get involved, only for Seven to try and hit a chop but getting the ring post instead. In the ring, Cassidy would hit some mocking low kicks, before being faked out into a DDT. Penelope Ford ran to the back, getting Butcher, The Blade & The Bunny as backup.
Taylor & Trent would go after Butcher & The Blade, with Bunny following them back – leaving just Sabian & Ford at ringside. In the ring, Seven would throw Cassidy into the corner before applying a rear chinlock. A Full Nelson would be applied, with Cassidy breaking out with an arm drag before being dropped with a lariat.
Orange Cassidy Retains AEW All-Atlantic Championship
Seven would lift Cassidy into a delayed suplex, with Cassidy countering with one of his own. Cassidy would be dropped with a strike, before a superplex for a near fall. Seven would have his face slammed off the turnbuckle, before nailing Cassidy with a chop. Sabian would be hit with the dive from Seven, before Cassidy looked for the Orange Punch but took a Dragon Suplex.
Stundog Millionaire would follow, with Seven firing back with an Emerald Flowsion for a near fall. Bop & Bang would land before the Seven Star Lariat for a near fall. Tiger Driver would be avoided, with Cassidy setting up Beach Break, but was unable to connect.
A Tornado DDT would land, but a diving DDT was blocked with an uppercut before a twisting piledriver got a near fall for Seven. The Birminghammer would be blocked, before the Orange Punch into the Beach Break for the finish. After the bell, Sabian would attack Cassidy in the ring.
Dustin Rhodes would make the save – catching Sabian with a powerslam before a Bionic Elbow and powerslam on Seven. Will Rhodes get the next shot at Cassidy as champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
