At ROH Final Battle, The Ocho would fall. Chris Jericho lost the ROH World Championship back to Claudio Castagnoli, but he’d like everyone to forget that happened. Tonight, Jericho returns to more sensible grounds – as he returns to action in AEW, as he has a tune up match as he prepares for a potential rematch with Claudio, where he won’t tap out to the Giant Swing again.
Action Andretti Defeats Chris Jericho In Upset Of The Decade
Action Andretti would be the opponent of the living legend Chris Jericho here tonight, with this rookie looking confident. Jericho would slap him across the face twice after Andretti got in his face. Andretti would be stomped into the corner, and tried to come back with some chops.
Jericho would hit a series of clubbing lariats in the corner, before some stiff chops on the ropes. A cross chop to the throat would follow, before Andretti would send Jericho to the mat with a hurricanrana. Springboard Tornillo would get a one count, before Jericho hit a Death Valley Driver to set up the Codebreaker for the two count.
Andretti would make it to the commercial break, shocking everyone in the arena including Andretti himself. Massive ‘Let’s Go Jobber’ chants were breaking out, and Jericho was getting pissed off. He’d send Andretti to the floor, and drove him into the ring steps shoulder first, but this didn’t quiet the crowd.
Jericho would hit a backdrop in the ring, before a cocky pinfall barely got a one count. Andretti would be choked on the middle rope, before taking a leg drop to the neck. A boot to the face was followed by some chops from Andretti, with Jericho relying on a poke to the eyes.
Andretti hit the backbreaker into a neckbreaker, before the Split Legged Moonsault was met with knees, before Judas Effect was avoided into a roll up for two. Springboard enziguri was followed by a lariat to the floor and the Arabian Moonsault.
Back in the ring, Andretti avoided the Walls of Jericho before a running Shooting Star Press got the win! He defeated the 8 time world champion – and the world was STUNNED. Action Andretti is All Elite after this win.
Ruby Soho & Tay Melo Show Their Fury In The Ring
Back at AEW All Out, Ruby Soho suffered a broken nose on the pre-show. This instantly took precious months away from the career of Soho, forcing her off TV as she looked to recover. Tay Melo was the one responsible, and that meant that Soho had a few months to stew and think about revenge. Tonight, she has a chance to get some proper revenge – as they meet in singles action.
After a quick brawl on the floor, Soho would hit two quick Saito Suplexes in the ring as the bell rang. No Future Kick would be blocked by Melo, who would look to run to the back. Soho would stop her, before taking a DDT on the ramp as Melo blocked the Destination Unknown.
Back in the ring, Melo would choke Soho on the middle rope – before going to tear up a fans sign in support of Soho. Some forearm smashes would follow from Soho, able to take Melo down to a knee before pulling her into a knockdown blow. Rushing sidekicks would follow in the corner, before Melo would nail a massive pump kick.
They’d trade chops in the middle of the ring, before Melo would hit a Gotch Style Piledriver for a two count. Soho would nail Destination Unknown to claim the win, before being attacked by Anna Jay after the bell.
