King Charles has been advised not to invite his son Prince Harry and his bride Meghan Markle to his coronation because they might get a “hostile response,” according to a warning.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle May Not Be Welcomed In The UK For The King’s Coronation
According to a royal expert, if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visit Britain again for King Charles’s coronation, they might not be welcomed. After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix series caused controversy, Phil Dampier made the remarks. Mr. Dampier said: “If King Charles wants to leave a door open to Harry and Meghan or invite them to the coronation, that’s up to him.”But don’t be surprised if they get a hostile reception from the public.”
King Charles Warned Against Allowing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Attending His Coronation
The Sussexes, who quit their royal responsibilities in 2020 to start over in the US, drew some jeers and cheers from attendees when they showed up for a Platinum Jubilee ceremony earlier this year. It follows the release of the first three parts of Harry and Meghan’s six-part Netflix series on Thursday, with three more episodes scheduled to air the following week.
The coronation of King Charles is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Westminster Abbey in London. The King will be crowned with Camilla, the Queen Consort, at the ceremony, and the plans, known as Operation Golden Orb, are a closely-guarded secret. The government controls the guest list because the coronation is a state event. The prime minister, members of both Houses of Parliament, chiefs of state, and other royals from across the world will attend in addition to the Royal Family, however, the specific guest list has not yet been made public.
The Netflix documentary has proven incredibly popular, outpacing the royal drama The Crown in watching numbers on launch day. The first three episodes of the series explored a variety of topics, including how Meghan has helped Harry overcome his “unconscious bias” and how Instagram played a significant role in their “wonderful love story.”
Harry’s relationship with his family has only been briefly discussed in the first three episodes, so part two may take a closer look at the conflicts between Harry, his father King Charles, and his brother Prince William. The royal family is reportedly “concerned” about what will be covered in the following volume.
Harry and Meghan have faced backlash over the show, which is the first significant result of their expensive Netflix contract. Following the Commonwealth, referred to in the program as “Empire 2.0,” the pair has been accused of undermining the late Queen’s legacy. A royal source informed the telegraph: “Some of this is deeply offensive to all those in the Commonwealth and, of course, the late Queen’s legacy.”
“The real risk is that people are learning about the Commonwealth for the first time through hearing this.” The Duchess of Sussex, meantime, has caused a stir with her “mocking” display of a curtsy to Elizabeth II. Gyles Brandreth, a royal pal, and royal novelist said on TalkTV: “It’s embarrassing because it is mocking — nobody curtsies to the Queen like that, and nobody would have advised her to do it that way.”
He said of Harry: “He would know that the bow, as it were, is a brief nod and the curtsy is to show respect for the sovereign, and in the case of the Queen – a lady in her 90s who had earned respect through a lifetime of service, and that was it. “To do this mocking thing is uncomfortable, but it is a cultural difference. You would do a curtsy if you were playing in Snow White.”
