Meghan Markle is putting an end to speculation that she will be joining the ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.’
Meghan Markle Refuses To Join The Real Housewives Franchise-‘There Will Be No Reality Show’
The Duchess of Sussex currently lives in Montecito, California which is some way away from Beverly Hills.
And as part of that process, the show’s producer Andy Cohen got frank over the prospect of Markle joining the show in light of the demand from the fans.
And this all came to a head on Meghan’s ‘Archetypes’ podcast, as Cohen and Meghan talked things out. In his comments, Cohen said: “I’m like, she ain’t joining the ‘Beverly Hills Housewives’ everybody, she’s Meghan Markle.
“[But if you join, they would] build the show around you,” to which Meghan replied: “There will be no reality show, but I think it’s so fun.” This should not come as a surprise for the following reasons.
First of all, Meghan has come a long way from her TV career. Prior to marrying Prince Harry, her claim to fame was being an actress on ‘Suits.’ Not only that, but she was also a briefcase model on ‘Deal on Deal.’
Therefore, by going on the real housewives, there is bound to be a discussion of Meghan’s past, which may come back to bite her new ‘royal’ life.
Secondly, Harry and Meghan are set to have their Netflix docuseries which will air in December. That will give fans an insight into the couple, and unlike the housewives franchise, they will have a say on the editing.
The fans on social media were glad to see that Meghan had ruled this out. A significant proportion of the fan base felt Meghan would not resonate with the audience.
One person wrote: “That would be a disaster nor would I watch. She is so hungry for the limelight and I guarantee Harry hates it.”
