There are very few who would deny that the 2022 Super Junior Tag League was one the best in company history, and it comes to a close now. Two teams emerged from tournament action with tickets to the finals, those being the new CHAOS duo of Lio Rush & YOH, and the Impact Wrestling based BULLET CLUB duo of Ace Austin & Chris Bey. Now these teams clash once again – after YOH & Rush defeated Bey & Austin earlier in the tournament. The winners will go on to face the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Catch 2/2 on January 4th at Tokyo Dome.
Ace Austin & Chris Bey Get Into The Head Of Lio Rush
Rush & Austin would brawl to the floor as this match began, as Bey & YOH stuck around in the ring. Bey would get tripped up before taking a sliding dropkick and being sent to the floor. Austin would stop a potential dive from YOH with a dropkick of his own design, before Rush would shut him down. Over in the corner, Austin would match the speed of Rush before Bey got involved – only for YOH to hit a Neckbreaker/DDT combination.
Bey would take a double back elbow before an assisted splash from Rush. CHAOS would work on isolating Bey in the corner, with Rush getting a touch too aggressive and being slowed down by YOH. They can’t make the finals if Rush gets DQ’d due to his bad blood with Bey.
BULLET CLUB would take advantage of this situation, stomping YOH two on one before hitting Poetry in Motion in the corner before a running double stomp to the back. Some Too Sweet back rakes would follow, before a snap suplex from Bey to YOH for a two count. Austin would apply the Step Over Armbreaker, pulling the ace out of his sleeve and slicing between the fingers out of the sight of the referee.
YOH would work to get free, launching Austin with a back body drop and being inches away from the tag… only for Bey to yank Rush off the apron. Russian Leg Sweep would be followed with a Leg Drop/Moonsault combination, getting a near fall. YOH would try to strike his way to freedom, nailing a dropkick on Austin and finally getting the tag to Rush.
Action Goes Deep In The Finals Of The Tournament
Rush would use his speed to nail the Rush Hour on Bey, getting a two count. Spinning heel kick to the face would be used to set up the Needle on the Vinyl, before Rush hit that Final Hour Splash off the top rope. Austin tried to throw Rush to the floor, but was unable to stop him.
Rush would hit the Axe Kick, before tagging in YOH who hit the flying headbutt. Austin would take a neckbreaker and Half Hatch Suplex, but was able to kick out. Direct Drive would be blocked, and YOH was sent to the floor for a PK to the jaw. Bey nailed the Too Sweet Tope, before Austin hit the Soar To Glory onto both Rush & YOH.
YOH would be able to catch Austin with a Falcon Arrow on the floor – and we had a pile of bodies at ringside. Everyone made it back into the ring before 20, and this match had a reset. They’d trade forearm smashes trying to get back to their feet, with Rush able to hit an enziguri on Bey before YOH launched Rush into a lariat.
YOH & Lio Rush Win Super Junior Tag League
Rush would accidentally kick YOH in the head, allowing Austin to come off the top rope for a near fall. 1-2-Sweet Cutter would land, but Rush was there for block The Fold. Bey & Rush would be fired up in the middle of the ring, trading heavy strikes with Bey winning out.
YOH would be able to blast Austin with a superkick, before the 3K would end this match… only if Bey didn’t pull the foot of the referee. Rush took Bey out with a dive, and Final Four Splash would land. Direct Drive would land, and CHAOS have won Super Junior Tag League.
