Royal expert Daniela Elser opined that Prince William appears to be the main focus of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent explosive revelations in their Netflix docuseries.
Prince William Is The Victim Of Harry And Meghan’s Netflix Docuseries- Says Royal Expert Daniela Elser
This is in connection to Harry’s selection of clips from an interview that their mother, the late Princess Diana, gave to Panorama in 1995, in which William expressed his wish that it never be used again.
And yet, throughout the documentary series, Harry commended his mom for her efforts in shielding him and William from the spotlight and the press when they were young. With that being said, this was being used to send a message to William.
In her comments, Daniela said: “Today, the day after the night before, something has become clear and that there is something of a forgotten victim in this sorry saga – ol’ William. [It was] rubbing salt in the wound.”
If those comments are taken to be true, then they are very significant for the following reasons. First of all, this will only exacerbate the existing rift between the two brothers.
After all, Harry’s move could be interpreted as putting money ahead of respecting the family’s wishes. Secondly, William had previously made it clear in no uncertain terms that he did not want to come across that interview ever again.
In some prior comments of the time, he remarked: “It is my firm view that this Panorama program holds no legitimacy and should never be aired again. It effectively established a false narrative.”
The response on social media, however, differed. A certain subset of people felt that Harry had every right to speak about the footage because of the fact that Diana was also his mother. Therefore, he simply had a different view on the matter.
One person wrote: “Grumpy old man, Princess Diana remains Prince Harry’s mother and he has every right to use the footage of his mother’s interview.”
