Sad news for Hollywood as Stephen Greif, who starred in Blake’s 7 and The Crown, has passed away at age 78. Greif’s representatives reported his death via Twitter.
The Hollywood actor had a very interesting career on stage and screen. He even made notable appearances in other series including Coronation Street, Doctors, and EastEnders. Stephen Greif’s death was announced on Monday December 26, 2022 via an online statement from Michelle Braidman Associates. The tweet read, “With great sadness we announce the death of our wonderful client Stephen Greif.”

The representatives continued, “His extensive career included numerous roles on screen and stage, including at the National Theatre, RSC and in the West End. “We will miss him dearly and our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
Stephen Greif’s Journey In Hollywood
Stephen Greif was born in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire. He attended and graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. After his graduation, as he pursue his career in acting, he went on to join the National Theatre Company at the Old Vic and Southbank. Stephen Greif starred in many stage productions throughout the 1960s and early ’70s. The late actor then made the transition to screen. It was then that he landed the role of space commander Travis in Blake’s 7.
Blake’s 7 aired on TV from 1978 to 1981. Greif starred alongside alongside notable names in the industry, Gareth Thomas, Paul Darrow, Michael Keating and Sally Knyvette. The late actor also played the role of Harry Fenning in three series of Citizen Smith. He starred as Signor Donato in Casanova and also starred as Commander John Shepherd in Shoot On Sight. Greif also portrayed Speaker of the House Sir Bernard Weatherill in series four of The Crown in 2020.
The cause of Stephen Greif’s death was not announced by his representatives. Other notable works of Greif include The Woman in Gold, The Upside of Anger, Spartan, The Last Days of Pompeii, Tales of the Unexpected, and The Bill.
