This week, AEW Dark looks to be a very good episode with some potentially good matchups and some great young talent on display. Lets take a look at some of the best parts from the show and give them some light.
The Good from AEW Dark
The first match of the night featuring Kiara Hogan was good for the length of time that it ran. I am a fan of the time that AEW is taking to try to build Hogan up in their women’s division.
I would like to see her in more competitive matches on Dark and Elevation soon. From looking at her in the ring, I can tell that she can do much more and personality wise, she is one of the more solid women that they have.
There were times that things didn’t look as fluid as they could, but I think that it is an AEW issue because not only have I seen it in other women’s matches but in a few of the men’s matches as well.
Next, I am always a fan of seeing Brian Cage. He is athletic and his offense looks impressive. This was a dominate squash match and it looked great. I would like to see more of Cage.
Action Andretti versus Ari Daivari was solid. Check out my list of the bad parts of the show to see more of my views on this match.
Brian Cage is a future star. So far, this one minute squash match got the hottest reaction from the crowd. Brian Cage’s offense looks so explosive that it is scary what he could become. His opponent, Jaiden was great too. I think that he might have a place somewhere on the roster.
Lastly, I really liked the tag team main even. It is always nice when AEW not only put some of their bigger names on the show, but when they give them something other than a squash match.
Claudio and Wheeler Yuta versus The Butcher and The Blade was a very good match that would fit onto any wrestling show any day of the week.
Coming in, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Yuta, but this match really had me rooting for him and wanting his team to win.
The Butcher and The Blade is also a very interesting tag team that I would like to see get some more time on Dark or Elevation.
I am not going to put it in the bad section but I absolutely hate the stupid crab walk that Claudio and Yuta does during their entrance. Silly things like this are reasons why I didn’t take Claudio serious as a champion in WWE. He is still a superb wrestler though.
