    AEW's Bryan Danielson Praises Konosuke Takeshita

    This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, fans got a real treat when it came to a match between Bryan Danielson & Konosuke Takeshita. This was the first match in a series of high stakes matches for Danielson, needing a perfect record to earn his shot against AEW World Champion MJF at AEW Revolution. However – this match meant a lot to Danielson for other reasons, having wanted a match with Takeshita for a while – and it lived up to the hype.

    Bryan Danielson Feels Konosuke Takeshita Could Become One Of The Greatest Of All Time

    During a backstage interview following his match with Takeshita, Danielson would take a chance to gush about just how great Takeshita is – and how good he will be by the end of his career. Danielson was quoted saying the following.

     

    “Tonight I finally got the chance to wrestle Takeshita. I was really looking forward to it. I’d heard a lot of people who I’ve wrestled, when they wrestled Takeshita, they said, ‘Oh, man, that guy’s great,’ and I got to feel it. It’s one thing to watch somebody, and I watch him, and you see, for how young he is, he’s in his 20s, he looks so good. It looks like he hits so hard. But I want to feel it. It’s one of the things I love about wrestling is feeling [when I’m] out there. When we got out there, and he hit me with the first forearm, I felt it. I felt, this guy is special. I’ve been in the ring with some of the best wrestlers in the world, some of the best wrestlers of all time. I think, by the end, we’re gonna be talking about Takeshita in the same way.”

    This was just the latest big match for Takeshita in AEW, who signed a joint contract with AEW & DDT in 2022. Previous big opponents in AEW for Takeshita in AEW include Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, Eddie Kingston & Claudio Castagnoli. He’s yet to get his first big win in AEW, with fans hoping that will come soon.
