This past Friday was a major night for Impact Wrestling, as they ran their first PPV of 2023 with Hard To Kill. It was a show full of great matches and moments, especially the end of the Last Rodeo of Mickie James as she claimed the Knockouts Championship in the main event. The match that opened the main show was also a main event level match, with Josh Alexander defeating Bully Ray to retain the Impact Wrestling World Championship in a Full Metal Mayhem Match – but Ray isn’t leaving just yet.
Bully Ray Has Revenge On His Mind
Appearing on Busted Open Radio on Saturday, Ray would reveal his future plans in Impact Wrestling.
“I’m gonna be sticking around for a while, and revenge is definitely on my mind. Whether that’s with Josh Alexander, whether that’s with his wife, or whether that’s with Tommy Dreamer, so we’ll see what’s going to happen. I am going to stick around. Last night was a very violent, very brutal match, as a Full Metal Mayhem Match always is.
During the match, Alexander’s wife would hit the Dudley Dog on Ray, and Dreamer hit him in the head with a trash can – both helping Alexander remain Impact Wrestling World Champion.
His Vision For Hard To Kill Was The Final Scene Of An Action Film
When it came to the story Ray was wanting to tell, he’d have the following to say on Busted Open about his return to Impact Wrestling and angle with Josh Alexander.
“When you take a match like that, and you put it together, there’s going to be so much violence, but how do you make sense of it all? So when I tell my stories week after week after week, I always want to culminate with a match that kind of looks like the end of an action movie. The final scene of an action movie, where the good guys and the bad guys fight, and the bad guy finally gets his, and the good guy gets the girl, and everybody gets to celebrate. That’s the vision I had in my mind for IMPACT Hard To Kill.”
