Dana White is in a lot of trouble with the media after the paparazzi caught him slapping his wife in public. Seems like the UFC President enjoyed the booze on New Year’s Eve a little bit too much. At least enough to allow himself to get physical with his wife. Moreover, to do it in public, in a local club in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.
UFC fans love Dana White. There is no denying that, however, fans are in outrage over his latest actions. He is the one person ‘to be blamed’ for the gigantic success of the UFC. He did a lot for the promotion, as well as for the MMA sport in general. But now fans, even though grateful, request him to take some responsibility for his actions.
Dana White Knows Who Will Replace Him As UFC President If He Gets Fired
Dana White issued an apology and acknowledged the incident almost immediately after it happened. He even went the distance to claim that he and his wife are in the best relationship. However, people are not taking it. He needs to bear a greater responsibility for what he did. And it means that ultimately, he needs to put down the keys to the UFC headquarters and leave. His time as the UFC boss is up.
On a different occasion, not connected to the most recent happenings, Dana White opened up about who he thinks can be a valuable replacement for him as the UFC boss.
“There’s one guy that can replace me.” – Dana White told in a press conference. “And there are certain things that I do that he wouldn’t be able to do. But the important things that get done over there are what really matters. And this guy could absolutely, positively, do it.”
The journalists started questioning Dana White for more information on this topic. However, the UFC boss did not give them the pleasure of sharing a name.
“Nobody would even know who the f**k he is.” – Dana White said. “He’s a behind-the-scenes guy.”
There is no question that Dana White is a highly competent person for running the UFC. Moreover, he is the trademark of the company. He became that over the years. He is with the promotion since the very beginning and he is the one that is responsible for uprising MMA to what it is today.
At the moment there is no information if the UFC will fire Dana White from being the president of the UFC. However, the practice tells that each time someone within the organization raised his hands on a woman, the promotion suspended them. Well at least, most of the time. Jon Jones is an exception as well.
Would Dana White be the second exception when it comes to domestic violence? Would the UFC be the same without Dana White? Let us know in the comments.
