The Duke of Sussex mentioned in his book Spare that they were aware of their impending parenthood only a few days before the ceremony of his cousin.
Harry explained that he and Meghan had arranged for their debut royal tour, however they decided to delay it so they could be at the princess’ wedding.
He said the nuptials allowed them to discreetly inform their family members that they had exciting news. In his book, Harry wrote: “We were in a big room, suits of armour on the walls.
“Strange room, strange moment. We whispered the news, and Willy smiled and said we must tell Kate.” In 2019, the couple celebrated the arrival of their three-year-old son, Archie.
Subsequently, in 2021, they publicised the birth of their daughter, Lilibet. Through the years, Harry has had a close relationship with Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank.
This was seen when they were at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, as people noticed Harry and Brooksbank’s laughter and Eugenie’s wide smile.
To top things off, Buckingham Palace declared that Princess Eugenie is expecting her second baby. She and her husband are already the parents to their two-year-old son, August.
Eugenie shared the news on Instagram, noting the following: “We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer.”
And yet, this just goes on to show just how much relations between Harry and William have deteriorated since they are longer close as what they were. The response on social media towards Harry’s comments was brutal.
This was on the basis that people felt the couple had upstaged Eugenie’s big day. One person wrote: “What an amazingly narcissistic way of making someone else’s special day about themselves.”
