One of the biggest “feel good” moments in WWE in 2022 was the Smackdown Women’s Championship victory of Liv Morgan. She would win the Money in the Bank ladder match, and cash in that same night to take the belt away from Ronda Rousey. Morgan was able to have a short reign before dropping it back to Rousey, but her time with the belt established her as a top name in the WWE women’s division. This could have given her a favourable spot in the upcoming Royal Rumble match – but Morgan wants to start from #1 and win the whole match.
Liv Morgan Has Lofty Goals For 2023 Royal Rumble
While speaking with Denise Salcedo, Liv Morgan would share her hopeful plans for the 2023 Royal Rumble match.
“I am hoping and I have been pitching myself to come out first. I want to come out first and make a statement to not only endure all the pain and physicality that it will take to get to me to be the last woman standing, but just to leave a message that, you know, bring all 29 women. At the end of the day, I’m still going to be the last one standing in that ring, and who knows what title I’d want to wrestle for.”
Morgan would also discuss the other challenges she’s overcome in her time as part of the WWE roster – saying the following about her past year.
“I feel like all the obstacles just made the end goal and the end results so much sweeter. I feel like there were so many times in my career where I felt like I’d never be champion, I wasn’t good enough to be champion. Other people thought I wasn’t good enough to be champion, and not for one second did I stop believing in myself and having faith in myself that at the end of the day, I will be champion. That’s exactly what I did this year. I’ve had an incredible, amazing, blessed year, and I couldn’t be happier.”
