As Prince Harry released his new book, “Spare,” Meghan Markle was absent from the publicity tour.
Meghan Markle’s Failure To Accompany Harry On His Book Tour Was A Calculated Move-‘Meghan Clearly Doesn’t Want To Make It Look As If She’s Somehow Manipulating Harry,’ Says Christopher Andersen
The memoir sold a record-breaking 1.43 million copies on its inaugural day. Even with the book’s remarkable success, sources have indicated that the Duchess of Sussex possibly had reservations as to whether or not it was the right decision.
While that may have been the case, it appears that there was another motive for Meghan’s failure to join her husband on the promotional tour.
Royal author Christopher Andersen was not taken aback by Markle’s absence after the book’s publication. He believed that this was her way of making it known that the book was only Harry’s undertaking.
In his comments, he said: “Meghan clearly doesn’t want to make it look as if she’s somehow manipulating Harry, or that she’s had a hand in shaping his memoirs.
“The Sussexes are very sensitive to the fact that their critics believe she has some mesmeric sway over him.” If those comments are taken to be true, then they are very significant for the following reasons.
First of all, any blowback that emerges from the book will solely be directed towards Harry. This has already been seen when he received mass criticism for disclosing the fact that he killed 25 Taliban members, with reports this may put British soldiers in danger.
Secondly, if Harry and Meghan’s relationship were to ever break down, the Duchess may be able to distance herself from the book. Lastly, in any event, it gives Meghan an opportunity to write her very own book too.
Christopher added: “The book was always Harry’s thing, in the same way the podcast was always hers. We didn’t see him in podcast promotion.
“They are clearly trying to build a Harry and Meghan brand and a Harry brand and a Meghan brand.” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
