The Last Rodeo in Impact Wrestling came to an end, as Mickie James faced Knockout’s Champion Jordynne Grace. It was a career vs. championship match, as James put everything on the line for one last chance to be champion. This paid off in a huge way, as James had one of her greatest matches ever with the young powerhouse, and when the dust settled? She could call herself a five time Knockouts Champion. Now, she has lofty goals for making the reign match up to the title chase.
Mickie James Wants To Defend The Belt In AEW, WWE & Even Stardom
While appearing on Busted Open Radio, James would express interest in defending the belt not just in Impact Wrestling, but also AEW, WWE & even Stardom. When it came to the one opponent she wants the most, Sasha Banks would be mentioned.
“You talk about that match with Sasha, that’s one match we never got at WWE. We never had a singles match and it’s one thing we always wanted. With her at Stardom and New Japan, that opportunity to have that singles match would be incredible.”
James also wants to finally make her debut for All Elite Wrestling, calling out three of the top names in the division.
“To go against someone at AEW, that’s a door I’ve never walked through before. Britt Baker or Jamie Hayter, she’s the champion, I love her. She’s fantastic. Someone like Jade Cargill, who is an anomaly, she’s an attraction, that would be two parallel universes, two different worlds colliding. That would be cool.”
Finally, she wants a chance to once again represent the Knockouts Division in WWE, which she was able to do in the 2022 Royal Rumble.
“I was blessed to go back to WWE for the Rumble last time, but there are a lot of women, Charlotte, Bayley, Becky, people who I never really had a chance to be with in that ring and show what I could truly do. That match with Asuka is probably my greatest match when I was back at WWE the last time, and I had some incredible moments and got to do WrestleMania with Alexa, but I didn’t have the opportunity to present Hardcore Country until the Rumble, but also remind people of who Mickie James is in the ring.”
