The most decorated women’s champion in WWE history, Charlotte Flair recently made her return to Smackdown. For those that aren’t familiar with her move set, here are her top three moves of DOOM to get you up to speed with this spectacular wrestler.
Figure Eight Leg Lock
In wrestling, there are moves that look like it hurts and then there are moves that look like they hurt but actually don’t for real.
The Figure Eight is one of those moves. The move is done when Charlotte puts her opponent into a regular Figure Four leg lock, then she bridges her body upward (think Bray Wyatt when he does the spider walk thing).
The announcers tell you that this adds “leverage” to the move to make it more devastating. While this is a good explanation for the move, I am not buying it.
I think that the whole Figure Eight concept is just for show and it actually does nothing to add to the move. It looks cool when she does it though.
DOOM Score: 3 out of 5
Natural Selection/Bow Down to the Queen
I don’t know why she changed the name from Natural Selection to Bow Down to the Queen, but either way, the move is butt cheeks.
I always hated impact moves that are done while the opponent is sitting on the ground. There just isn’t as much room for the impact to happen. With this move, the opponent is sitting there and Charlotte flips over their head from the back, and drives their head into the mat.
While once again, it looks cool, this move is mainly just for show and I highly doubt that it actually does any damage. The worst part is that there are actually women out there that had to take the fall to this move.
Moonsault
This move is more of one of her signature moves. When she does it, it always look good and with her being so long and tall compared to her opponents, it looks like more than what it is.
While I am glad that is isn’t her finishing move, I would gladly accept it over a move like the Natural Selection. It’s a classic move that seems like it never goes out of style.
DOOM Score: 4 out of 5
Queen’s Boot
While this is simply what you might think it is, it is sometimes much more than that. Yes, it is simply a big boot, but when Charlotte does it, it looks absolutely vicious.
Charlotte is about eight to nine inches taller than most women so her doing her big boot looks like Kevin Nash big booting Rey Mysterio. Her big boot also looks like it has more impact because of the follow through that she typically does with it.
I would gladly trade both the Figure Eight and the Natural Selection in a package deal to get the Queen’s Boot to be her finishing move.
DOOM Score: 5 out of 5
