Back in 2008, WWE would introduce some new superstars as part of the ECW Brand – and few found as much success as Kofi Kingston. Over the past 15 years, he’s become a record breaking tag team champion, won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, and everything in between. However – Kingston is not intending to slow down anytime soon.
Kofi Kingston Reflects On 15 Years Of WWE
Kofi Kingston would take to Instagram to reflect on the past 15 years of his WWE career, and had the following to say.
Time is f*d up, man… 15 years…how?! Seems like it was just yesterday that I was smiling my way through the nervousness on this entrance in Charlottesville, Virginia. I had no idea where the road would lead, but boy, have we come a long way…
15 straight years of bumps, matches, tours, stories, laughs, friendships, brotherhoods and sisterhoods…(well I’m not a sister, but you get it; family sh*t, bruh!).
So many memories. And I am grateful for them all.
Thanks to my wife for her love and support throughout this adventure. I’d not get to do this if it were not for her. I love you @earthmamarising!
And finally, thank you all for riding with me on this incredible journey. And we ain’t done yet…
Set For A Big Year In 2023
Kingston is already set to make 2023 another big year in his career. Alongside New Day partner Xavier Woods, he currently holds the NXT Tag Team Championships. They won the belts from Pretty Deadly at NXT Deadline in 2022, and will defend at NXT Vengeance Day next month.
Kingston has also announced that he will enter the 2023 Royal Rumble match. Over his career, his creative ways of saving himself from elimination in the match have helped to define his career. Despite this, he’s never actually won the match. Fans hope it will come soon, and 2023 could well be his year.
