ABC’s Daytime soap opera, ‘General Hospital’ celebrates historic 60th anniversary on April 1, 2023, and fans and well wishers have taken to social media to acknowledge the soap’s milestone. Cast member, Jon Lindstrom, was however a little too late to the party. He recently took to social media to celebrate the soap’s milestone and acknowledged the fact that he was a latecomer.
Just “think of me as a late arrival to a really good party,” Jon said via Instagram. “I just wanted to wish all my friends and colleagues at ‘General Hospital’ a happy 60th anniversary,” he continued. “It’s been a real blessing and honor to be able to make television with all of you. “And most of all, to all the fans of General Hospital who have kept us on the air longer than any other scripted show in history,” Jon added.

“Well! Pat yourselves on the back for that. Thank you. We love you all. We wouldn’t be here without you.” Jon Lindstrom, joined ‘General Hospital’ in 1992 as the diabolical Ryan, and then was given a second character in 1993, when he played Ryan’s less dangerous twin, Kevin Collins. Jon said about his experience on ‘General Hospital’ that “it’s been the ride of my life.”

In anticipation of the big day, ‘General Hospital’ cast members got together for a new class picture, giving their fans a look at how far the show spans with a wide array of characters. ABC network also unveiled a special featurette of show’s cast members reflecting on the anniversary. The programming front shows that the anniversary content will kick off on Wednesday, March 29 with a special episode honoring late Sonya Eddy, who starred as the head nurse Epiphany Johnson on ‘General Hospital’ starting back in 2006.
