Ric Flair is at a point in his wrestling career where he’s a personality and occasionally a manager. On his To Be the Man podcast, the Nature Boy answered a question about working as a manager or agent in a national promotion given the chance.
Is Ric Flair Being Overlooked by WWE and AEW for a Manager Because He Could Overshadow Them On the Mic?
Flair said that he’s all for doing either “but they won’t.” Co-host and son-in-law/co-host Conrad Thompson honed on that and asked for more. The WWE hall of famer said that he was just still too good at 73 when it came to knowing his way around the mic.
“Because I’m too good at what I do, even at my age. I’m not talking about being a producer, not being a writer. I don’t mean that. I’m talking about (if) they give me a microphone and they let me have at it. I mean, you tell me.” (credit: Wrestling Inc)
The question included IMPACT Wrestling but Ric Flair only included WWE and AEW in his answer. Also, it kind of seems like Flair believes he that AEW and WWE wouldn’t want their talents—meant to be the stars of the show—to be overshadowed by the retired 70-something guy.
Even though he’s not on WWE or AEW television each week, Flair is still getting the bag via $700,000 in Cameo money. So, he’s staying busy and keeping the cash flowing.
We last saw Flair on WWE television as part of RAW XXX. Do you see Flair being plugged in as a manager or agent? Maybe he’ll dust off his commissioner’s suits? Let us know what you think and where you believe he can fit in now.
