That is according to behavioural expert Judi James. Kate, for her part, has been an integral member of the firm after having married Prince William in 2011.
And her role has only increased following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure in 2020. In addition, the passing of Queen Elizabeth II last year also added more duties on Kate.
While she has been holding her own, there are still some things that show she is not fully confident. Judi’s observations focused on Kate’s appearance at a food bank on Thursday, 26th January 2023 alongside William.
During the course of that process, the pair visited Windsor Foodshare. They decided to help the volunteers who were getting the food ready for people to pick up.
The pair pushed around some shopping carts, as well as bagged up the food. However, it seemed that Kate did not know what to do with her hands when she was engaged in the official duties.
In her comments, Judi said: “As a modern royal, Kate has a body language challenge that the late queen never suffered from, which is what to do with your hands when you’re on official engagements.
“For the queen, a handbag would be de rigueur, meaning she had a reason to crook her arm or hold her bag at her side.” Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind the following points.
First of all, Kate used to carry around a handbag, but has dropped it since then. This may be due to the fact that she wants to distinguish herself from the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Secondly, it could also be a sign that Kate is becoming more confident in her approach. Judi added: “This means that, like her husband, her arms will be held down at her sides or free to perform greeting rituals or to join in with the action.”
