Meghan Markle Doesn’t Feel She Would Be Welcome At King Charles III’s Coronation
According to reports, Charles has invited Prince Harry and Meghan on the basis that their absence could do more damage. While that may have been the case, the couple have yet to confirm whether or not they will attend.
This could have been on the basis that their son, Archie’s fourth birthday is on the same day as the Coronation. However, there are also concerns about safety precautions and a significant decrease in popularity since the release of Harry’s book, Spare.
Harry wishes to be close to his father on the day, though reports suggest the monarch will be occupied with his responsibilities. And by the looks of it, things are in the balance.
A source confirmed the following: “They do not have any insight. They’ll cross that bridge when they come to it.” This is understandable for the following reasons.
First of all, the last time the couple were at a royal event, that being Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, they were booed as they exited St Paul’s Cathedral.
Secondly, there is no pressure on the pair to do anything at all since Charles is hardly the most popular monarch. After all, he has already been subjected to two egg-throwing incidents.
The response on social media, though, was clear. A certain subset of people made it clear that by leaving the firm, the Sussexes were not entitled to things that they thought they would have been.
One person wrote: “I don’t get it, they wanted to not be part of the Royal Family… You got what you wanted, now stop whining.” Time will tell if the pair do end up making an appearance.
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
