A Netflix movie entitled ‘Scoop’ is being made about the background of Prince Andrew’s BBC interview about his supposed relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Netflix Announce Movie Based On Prince Andrew’s Disastrous BBC Interview
In 2019, Andrew was interrogated on “Newsnight” covering thorny issues such as claims of sexual abuse brought forward by Virginia Giuffre.
Andrew was close to Epstein, who had been accused of sex trafficking in 2019 and passed away in jail later in the same year. During the interview, Andrew mentioned that he did not regret being friends with Epstein and denied assaulting Giuffre.
One of Giuffre’s allegations was that they had gone dancing at a club together and Andrew had sweated profusely. To this, he responded that it could not have been true as he has a medical condition which prevents him from sweating.
Andrew claimed he had no recollection of encountering Giuffre, although a photo of them together, alongside Epstein’s aide, Ghislaine Maxwell, exists.
Following the interview, the prince forfeited his official duties and ceased to be acknowledged by his title of “His Royal Highness”. Furthermore, he was divested of his military rank and any patronage roles.
Eventually, Andrew and Giuffre settled the lawsuit outside of court. The public responded to the televised interview with the discredited royal, deeming it a failure.
Peter Moffat, the creator of “Scoop,” stated that the movie will provide clarification regarding why Andrew consented to the interview.
In his comments, Moffat said: “What the hell did he think he was doing? Who got him to do it? Why, when the rest of the world was so appalled, did he think it had gone so well?
“What kind of a man is this? In researching the film and talking to those on the inside of this extraordinary story, I got the answers to all these questions.”
Filming is set to begin this year, with a release date likely in 2024. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
