According to the opinion of royal expert Daniela Elser, this recent development is an indication that Harry and Meghan Markle have been sidelined by the Royal Family following their choice to withdraw from their official capacities.
This is despite the fact that Harry is fifth in line to the throne. It is said that Camilla desires her five grandchildren to support the canopy above her during the consecration by the Archbishop of Canterbury at the Coronation.
And that is something that may not go down well for the following reasons. First of all, Harry made it clear in his memoir, Spare, that he did not view Camilla highly.
He accused her of using the press to her advantage, as well as the fact that he called her a villain. Secondly, given that Harry’s grandchildren will not have the opportunity to do just that, it may leave a bitter taste in the mouth.
In her comments, Daniela said: “Harry might be the King’s son and fifth in line to the throne but now…the Sussexes will now have to watch on as Camilla’s family steal the limelight, a nation’s hearts and millions if not billions of clicks and likes.”
This should not come as a surprise when we look at the last engagement that Harry and Meghan attended. During the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, the pair were not on the palace balcony.
In addition, when they exited St Paul’s Cathedral, they were subjected to some booing. With that being said, Harry and Meghan cannot expect the royal red carpet after everything they have disclosed in the public realm.
