Stipe Miocic requests a shot at the heavyweight title immediately after Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane fight. Finally, after many months of uncertainty and speculation, UFC has a clear plan for its heavyweight division. Francis Ngannou has been in a skirmish with Dana White for a very long time. thus prolonging the happenings in the heavyweight division.

The former heavyweight champion has been on and off with the UFC, complaining about his earnings and boxing future. Now, after long negotiations, Francis is finally no longer part of the UFC. As a free agent, now he can seek his future elsewhere.

Stipe Miocic Demands To Fight The Winner Of Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane in 2023

Francis Ngannou fought Ciryl Gane in a defense of his heavyweight title, one year ago at the UFC 270. With him gone from the promotion, Ciryl Gane is now in first place in the heavyweight rankings.

Dana White announced the news at the UFC Vegas 67 press conference, and he put a date for the fight – 4th of March 2023 at the UFC 285. In the turn of events, one person is unhappy about the decision to replace Francis Ngannou with Cyril Gane. The Croat Stipe Miocic. When the rumors about Francis Ngannou’s release started spreading, rumors were that his place will be filled with Stipe Miocic. However, that did not reach fruition, as Dana White decided to follow the unwritten law of MMA and give the ‘most anticipated fight of all time’ to the next in line.

Stipe Miocic was in the 3rd place of the UFC heavyweight rankings, right below Ciryl Gane.

According to Dana White, Jon Jones doesn’t care whom he will fight. He just wants a shot at the title. Jon Jones wants his comeback to be the most iconic one so far. Dana White reveals that he didn’t give Stipe Miocic the Jon Jones fight as he was asking for too much money. However, not getting the fight doesn’t seem to bother Stipe Miocic too much. As his tweet states, he would be more than happy to fight for the title after UFC 285.

“March 4th – I like it. I got winner in July.” – Stipe Miocic tweeted after the news about Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane fight was announced.

Some MMA fans are excited about Stipe Miocic announcing his comeback. However, some consider him not ‘worth’ of a title shot immediately after coming back from a 3-year long pause.

“Getting brutally KOd and sitting out for 3 years doesn’t earn you a title shot. Gotta get through Blaydes or Pavlovich first lol” – one fan told Stipe Miocic on Twitter. “Where was this energy for the year and a half? You need a win before fighting for the belt again” What do you think? Does Stipe Miocic deserve a title shot?
