‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers finds that star, Melissa Claire Egan is expecting another child. On Wednesday February 15, 2023, the 41-year-old took to Instagram to share the news that she and her husband, Matt Katrosar, are about to be parents of two. The couple already share a son, Caden, who is 1 year old.
“Looks like we’re just destined to have August babies!” The soap opera star wrote as she shared a picture of her cradling her baby bump while her son, Caden stood next to her. “So grateful and excited to be adding another cub to our family of Leo baby boys 😄🦁 Caden’s gonna be a big brother!💙”

Friends and family started sending their well wishes to the actress and her family. Susan Walters (Diane Jenkins) said “congratulations” and Lauralee Bell (Christine) wrote, “This news is amazing!” Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell Fisher) also said, “💙 🙌😍.” “I really wanted to be the one to break the news,” Greg Rikaart (Kevin) joked, “but hugely excited for you all regardless 🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
Egan and her husband, Katrosar, who has also featured on ‘Young and the Restless’, got married in July 2014. The couple announced that they were expecting their first child in April 2021, with Egan sharing how she had struggled with infertility. “The journey to get here has been filled with lots of tears, stress, sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, and 2 miscarriages,” she said.
“To anyone going through this process or any kind of fertility issues, I feel you, I see you, you’re not alone. I wish I could jump through this phone and give you a big hug. Please do not give up hope. Keep trusting and have faith. You got this!!!” The couple welcomed their son four months later, with Egan writing, “We’re awestruck by this little man and can’t believe he’s ours!”
It’s unclear if ‘Young and the Restless’ producers will write in the Egan’s pregnancy. Her character, Chelsea is currently a mum to Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and the biological mother of Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind). Her first pregnancy was not written in on the show.
