Aside from being far from a favorite of the people in the UK, Meghan Markle gets a lot of hate from a lot of public personalities. When we say public people, we mean TV presenters, hosts, and journalists in general. For example, she gets constant bashing from Piers Morgan or Megyn Kelly. These two are one of the loudest among her critics. However, now Jeremy Clarkson joins on the fun.
Jeremy Clarkson made comments that he most probably immediately regretted. After making the comments journalists started reacting to his comments as being too harsh and asked for his apology.
Jeremy Clarkson Calls For ‘Shame’ Treatment Of Meghan Markle And Apologizes Afterwards
“Meghan, though, is a different story. I hate her. Not like I hare Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level. At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.” – Jeremy Clarkson wrote referring to the public shaming scene on ‘The Game Of Thrones’.
The Royal family hasn’t reacted to the comments just yet. However, it is strange that there is no reaction from them whatsoever. What makes things even more eccentric is that the loudest critics that condemn Meghan Markle come from the elite of journalists, and friends of Queen Consort Camilla.
Jeremy Clarkson crossed the line and made the most disgusting comment about Meghan Markle. He asked for a medieval treatment where she would need to go naked through crowds, while people hit her.
“NO Jeremy Clarkson. Not on any level, in any circumstance, is it ok to write this stuff about any woman & absolutely NO to ‘everyone who’s my age thinks the same’. No no no. We absolutely do NOT think the same. Listen to the noise Jeremy. The crowds are chanting ‘shame on YOU’.” – Carol Vorderman reacts to the comments.
Many people reacted to his article, including his daughter, Emily Clarkson. She even made a public status distancing herself from her father’s views.
“My views have always been clear when it comes to misogyny, bullying, and the treatment of women by the media. I want to make it very clear that I stand against everything that my dad wrote about Meghan Markle. I remain standing in support of those that are targeted with online hatred.” – Emily Clarkson wrote on her Instagram story.
Jeremy Clarkson, under pressure, wrote an apology via Twitter.
“Oh, dear. I’d rather put my foot in it. In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made a clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones and this has gone down badly with a great many people. I’m horrified to have caused so much hurt and I shall be more careful in the future.” – he ‘sort-of’ apologized.
