During WWE NXT Vengeance Day – we would see Lyra Valkyria call for someone to step up and challenge her for tonight’s episode of NXT. She was prepared for a match against Cora Jade recently, only for Jade to pull out. Valentia Feroz would be the one to accept this challenge – and will have a chance to put the lessons she’s learned from watching Elektra Lopez – namely to do whatever it takes to get the victory. However, it was Wendy Choo in her corner tonight.
Ava Raine Pulls Thea Hail Away, Lyra Valkyria Defeats Valentina Feroz
Before this match, we’d see Thea Hail try to ask Tiffany Stratton a question backstage. Hail would be dismissed by Stratton, leading to a fiery rant about Stratton being too stubborn for her own good. Ava Raine would sneak in from behind and drag Hail away – tweeting out the following.
this thing needs to be sedated i don’t know how chase u deals with her
Valkyria & Feroz would lock up in the middle of the ring, only for Valkyria to hit the big hip toss. Feroz would try for a roll up for a two count, before being hit with the high impact kicks of Valkyria. Northern Lights Suplex would follow, and Elektra Lopez would walk down the ramp.
Feroz would fire up and hit the running hurricanrana – before a double down after they bonked heads. Lopez would slip Feroz the Brass Knuckles, but she’d be unable to use them before being taken out with a stiff spin kick from Valkyria. Choo would question the choice of Feroz to put the brass knuckles on – with a clear intent to use them.
Stacks Cuts Odyssey Jones Down To Size
As The Underboss of the D’Angelo Family – Stacks is ready to really prove himself in NXT. He’s proven himself against the likes of former NXT Champion & Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura, stood up to Dijak, and proved his loyalty to Tony D’Angelo. Now, he’s looking to claim his biggest win to date – as he goes one on one with Odyssey Jones.
Jones would apply a headlock as this match began, only for Stacks to slip free. Stacks would try for a series of shoulder tackles, only to be dropped with one from Jones. Jones would throw Stacks across the ring, before taking a kick to the leg. Stacks hit a neckbreaker using the top rope, before a lariat to the back of the neck.
Jones would land throat first on the ropes, before taking a leg drop. Chinlock would be applied in the middle of the ring, with Stacks starting to break Jones down to size. Jones would break free and hit the one armed sidewalk slam, before rolling over Stacks. The crowd was split 50/50 with Jones & Stacks, with Stacks hitting a DDT and sliding elbow smash. A curb stomp would follow – and Stacks got the win.
Wes Lee is holding an Open Challenge for the NXT North American Championship next week, and after exchanging words with him before this match – it looks like Stacks is ready for his first title shot.
