On pure talent alone this should be an awesome match, so let’s sit back and enjoy the match.
Bailey offered his hand and after a brief hesitation, Tanahashi accepted.
They traded wristlocks to start it off, and after they broke in the corner, Tanahashi took a shot, and then hit a reverse elbow and crossbody to gain the advantage.
Bailey ate a shoulder tackle, but kipped up and fired off his machine gun kicks that sent Tanahashi to the floor.
Bailey went after him and they traded shots, and Bailey connected with a dropkick to gain the advantage.
Tanahashi turned the tables with a dropkick to Bailey’s left leg, and he went to work on it with a series of kicks and holds, including playing it like a guitar.
Working the leg
Bailey fired back but Tanahashi shut him down with a right. That didn’t stop Bailey as he hit a boot and a missile dropkick to buy some time.
Bailey hit a running shooting star press for a near pinfall, but when he got up his left leg was still bothering him.
Tanahashi caught him with a forearm off the ropes and body slammed him to his a senton off the middle rope for a near pinfall.

They tied up in the ropes where Tanahashi caught Bailey’s kick and hit a dragonscrew on Bailey’s left leg into the ropes.
Tanahashi hit a second one in the ropes when Bailey tried to climb into the ring.
Bailey avoided Tanahashi’s baseball slide to hit a springboard moonsault on the floor and it looked like Bailey injured his left leg even more.
Both barely made it into the ring before the count of 20 to keep the match going.
Never quitting
Back in the ring they traded blows and Bailey kicked at Tanahashi’s right arm, then his a standing moonsault followed by a kick with his left foot for a near pinfall.
Tanahashi countered Bailey’s tornado kick with a sling blade and headed to the top rope, but Bailey got to his feet and hobbled onto the middle rope.
Tanahashi fought him off and stomped on Bailey’s left leg and face, but Bailey still pulled himself up to hit a hurricanrana.
Bailey hit a tornado kick, but Tanahashi rolled out of the way of an Ultimate Weapon and Bailey landed on his knees.
Bailey then rolled him up for a near pinfall, and Tanahashi hit a series of spinning suplexes and a sling blade before hitting a frog splash for the win.
This was an awesome match between two of the best, but Tanahashi was too much for Bailey, but Bailey came close.
After the match, Tanahashi offered his hand and helped Bailey to his feet to share the celebration.
